This year’s Winter Social will be held at Shy Bear Brewing on Thursday, December 19, 2024, beginning at 6:30PM. We will need RSVP’s for the event by December 11, 2024. The Chapter will provide the first beverage for the evening, and attendees will be responsible for their meals.

Annual Banquet
The Chapter's Annual Banquet will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at the Belleville Mennonite School. This year’s speaker will be Dave Rothrock. Doors will open at 4:30 PM. More details to follow.

Mifflin County Conservation District Watershed Restoration Projects Tour
Mifflin County Conservation District Watershed Specialist Bailey Coder will be providing a tour of ongoing projects. Interested chapter members should meet at Conservation District at 9:00 AM.
Reeds Gap Fall Festival
The festival celebrates the beginning of fall at Reeds Gap State Park (learn more). The Chapter will have an information station, featuring fly tying and fly casting. Chapter volunteers should arrive by 9:00 AM.

Fall Tree Planting
Chapter volunteers will be assisting with the Mifflin County High School Science Club and the Jr. High Conservation Club in a fall tree planting at Kish Park. Chapter members wishing to help will need to have their Youth Protection Clearances. The Chapter does have copies of completed clearances on file and will have them the day of the event. Meet at the park’s Grey Pavilion at 8:15 AM.

Introduction to Fishing for Kids
The Penns Creek Chapter will be providing a morning of fishing at the Promise Ranch Youth Day Camp. Kids will be shown how to cast a fly rod and then given time to fish for bluegills and bass in the Camp's pond. Chapter members will provide guidance and encouragement to the young anglers. The rain date for this event is July 19, 2024.

Snyder County and Juniata County Conservation Districts Enviro-Camp
The Snyder County and Juniata County Conservation Districts will be holding an Enviro-Camp for Snyder and Juniata County students (Learn more about the Kids' Enviro Camps). The Chapter will be providing a program on the Identification of Stream Macro-Invertebrates.

The Snyder County and Juniata County Conservation Districts will be holding an Enviro-Camp for Snyder and Juniata County students (Learn more about the Kids' Enviro Camps). The Chapter will be providing a Fly Casting and Introduction to Fly Fishing program.
Chapter Summer Social
The Chapter will be holding its 2024 Summer Social at Poe Paddy State Park on June 12,
2024. You can arrive anytime after 3:00PM. We will be using one of the two pavilions in
the Park. Look for the Penns Creek Banner. Members and guests will need to supply a
meat of your choice, and a covered dish to share with everyone. The Chapter will provide
beverages, although no alcohol is permitted on park property. We plan on eating between
5:00 and 6:00PM to allow time to do a little fishing on Penns Creek. Any questions contact

TU members will be demonstrate how to identify stream macro-invertebrates.
TIC Release Day - Tuscarora Intermediate Conservation Club
Release Day program will includes fly casting and identification of stream macro-invertebrates. Tuscarora Intermediate Conservation Club students will release trout fingerlings that they raised from eggs.

Stream Cleanup on Kish Creek
The Chapter has scheduled a stream cleanup for March 23, 2024, for Kish Creek. Due to the weather, we have changed the starting time to 12:30 this Saturday at Kish Park. We will meet at the entrance to the campground.
